Lakeside Sessions at Ballyscanlon 2026

Join us at Ballyscanlon Lake for an unforgettable afternoon and evening celebrating seasonal food and the outdoors. This is the first event of its kind from Mezze, bringing together our love of nature, good food, and shared adventure.

Spend the afternoon paddling on the lake, soaking in a wood-fired sauna or seaweed bath, and joining Nicola & Dvir around the fire for hands-on cooking demos. You’ll roll and cook your own flatbreads, help prepare meats for the barbecue, and taste fire-roasted vegetables and seasonal salads as they’re cooked. As the sun sets, we’ll gather around the campfire for an evening of food, fire and music from SX2, a genre-blending duo known for groove-filled, boundary-breaking sets.

Sample Schedule

1:30 p.m. – Arrival & Welcome
Coffee, tea, cake, and snacks available on arrival.

2:00 – 3:30 p.m. – Activity Block 1
Choose between SUP on Ballyscanlon Lake; Wood-Fired Sauna & Seaweed Bath; or Fire Demo 1 – Flatbreads with Nicola: hands-on, roll, shape and cook your own flatbreads over the fire. Tastings provided.

3:30 – 5:00 p.m. – Activity Block 2
Choose between SUP; Sauna & Seaweed Bath; or Fire Demo 2 – Fire-Cooked Meats with Dvir: learn about spice blends, marinades, flavours, and prep techniques such as spatchcocking a chicken.

5:00 – 6:30 p.m. – Activity Block 3
Choose between SUP; Sauna & Seaweed Bath; or Fire Demo 3 – Fire-Roasted Veg & Seasonal Salads: toss, season and watch vegetables finish over the flames. Tastings provided.

6:30 p.m. – Dinner
A seasonal feast featuring fire-cooked dishes alongside a spread of Mezze dips, salads and sides as well as seafood & fish prepared by Pat Hartley served under the stretch tent.

7:30 – 9:00 p.m. – Campfire Session
Campfire, nightcap (BYOB) and music from SX2.

Food & Drink Throughout the Afternoon
Tea, coffee, cakes, snacks and tasters from some demos will be available all afternoon. Bring your drink of choice for the dinner and campfire session.

Weather
This is a fully outdoor event and will go ahead rain or shine. A stretch tent will provide cover for demos and dining.

Optional Bus Transfer (€20)
A return bus will run from Church Car Park (Priest’s Rd, Tramore) to Ballyscanlon Lake. Parking at Ballyscanlon on site is very limited, so please carpool if driving.

What to Bring
Warm layers and a waterproof jacket; swimwear, towel and flip-flops for sauna/seaweed bath; spare warm clothes; sturdy outdoor shoes; reusable water bottle; plate, cup for hot drinks and cutlery to keep the event eco-friendly.

Refunds
Cancellations made at least 14 days before the event will be refunded. After that, we may not be able to resell your ticket, but you are welcome to pass it on to someone else if you let us know.
