If you’re buying a Demo & Dine as a gift and not sure which workshop to choose then you can buy a voucher.
Falafel & Flatbreads (vegan) | Saturday 27th January
Whether you’re looking for some new plant-based recipes for you or the vegan in your life or you’re a fiend for falafel this Demo and Dine will take you through the secrets to making perfect falafel. Dvir and Nicola will demonstrate how to make two traditional falafel recipes, easy flatbreads and all the trimmings to go with them. Once you’ve gained all this insight you’ll sit down to a shared plates meal of falafels, salads, dips, sauces and flatbreads. The night will be finished off with some Middle Eastern sweet treats and Mint tea/Turkish coffee.
Middle Eastern Mezze | Friday 23rd February
Mezze, a selection of small dishes often served as appetisers in the Middle East, are full of flavour and extremely versatile. Mezze can be served up for a snack, a weekend lunch or as an appetiser for a Middle Eastern feast. This workshop will take you through some of our favourite vegetarian mezze such as hummus, baba ganoush, labneh, salads, nibbles and pita breads with za’atar. Once we’ve run through these recipes and you’ve had a go at making a few, you’ll sit down to a shared plates meal.
Middle Eastern Mains | Saturday 23rd March
Looking to spice up the mid-week meal or want a few new tricks up your sleeve when hosting friends? This demo and dine’s just the ticket. We’ll take you through simple recipes which are full of flavour for any night of the week or occasion.
Sample menu of dishes prepared on the night: mushroom shawarma, slow-cooked pulled lamb, chicken & rice, laffa flatbreads, and Moroccan harira soup. Served with salads, sauces and sides.
Middle Eastern Fish | Friday 26th April
As an island nation we consume quite a low level of fish but at the same time one of our most popular specials was a fish dish – Dvir’s mam’s fish cakes. We’ll show you how to make these as well as other flavourful and nutritious dishes at home with seasonal fish.
Middle Eastern Street Food | Saturday 25th May
Our favourite food when in Israel is from market stalls and hole in the wall eateries. We’ve lined up some bangers to learn how to make at home.
Sample menu of dishes prepared on the night: sambousak, chicken shawarma, Tunisian sandwich/salad, and sabich. For dessert we’ll prepare malabi, a coconut, rose and raspberry pudding. Served with breads, salads, sauces and sides.
Middle Eastern Barbeque| Friday 21st June
Our most popular demo and dine to date. Build a fire and this couple will come. Nicola and Dvir have spent years barbecuing and cooking over fires in Israel where it’s a national pastime, and on Nicola’s family farm where they’ve made a fire-cooking haven. Meat is usually the go-to for most cooking on fire but this couple love the flavour it gives to vegetables too
Dishes prepared on the night: mashweya (barbecued salad), flatbreads, lamb kebabs, chicken shishlik, charred cabbage with harissa & date dressing. For dessert we’ll prepare a Middle Eastern style summer pudding. Served with salads, sauces and sides.
Please note dishes prepared on the night may vary.
