The joy of cooking, sharing food and learning how to make new foods is what motivated us to quit our office jobs in Tel Aviv, move to Ireland and start a food business. Showing others who love food how to make Middle Eastern dishes is one of our favourite things to do!

Join us, Mezze owners Dvir and Nicola, in our award winning deli* where you’ll cook along with us and learn how to prepare some of Mezze’s most popular dishes. You can book one workshop below or the whole lot with a 10% discount.

workshops & dates:

Plant Powered Plates (Middle Eastern Style) | 27th January

When we started our business we unintentionally began preparing mostly vegan foods. By nature Middle Eastern foods are veg heavy and mezze, the dishes served at the start of a meal in the Middle East, are generally vegan in Israel. We found that these were some of our favourite foods as well as friends and family visiting us when we lived in Israel. Using simple spice mixes, sauces and cooking methods we’ll show you how to prepare easy plant powered plates for mid-week meals or feasts to share.

Sample menu of dishes prepared on the night: mushroom shawarma, maghmour, whole roasted cauliflower, malabi (rosewater & coconut pudding). Served with salads, sauces and sides.

Middle Eastern Breads | 24th February

There’s nothing better than the smell of freshly baked bread. When we decided to start a food business making bread was defintitely one of the things we found a bit daunting. We soon found out though that a simple dough recipe can take you far and it doesn’t require too much skill – just a bit of time.

Sample menu of dishes prepared on the night: lavosh flatbreads, challah, laffa flatbread, babka (sweet bread for dessert) as well as salads, dips, sauces and sides to enjoy with them.

Middle Eastern Barbecue | 9th June

Israelis are little obsessed with barbecuing. They have the weather for it so it’s done quite often but everyone has their own way of doing it, the foods that must be served on their. We’re going to let you in to our Israeli-Irish family grilling secrets in our Middle Eastern barbeque workshop which perhaps unusually will feature lots of veg, breads, dips and salads as well as some grilled meats.

Sample menu of dishes prepared on the night: mashweya (barbecued salad), flatbreads, lamb kebabs, free range chicken shishlik, charred cabbage. Served with salads, sauces and sides. There will be vegetarian and meat options prepared on the night.

Please note dishes prepared on the night may vary depending on supplier availability.
