Demo & Dine Workshops Autumn & Winter 2023


The joy of cooking, sharing food and learning how to make new foods is what motivated us to quit our office jobs in Tel Aviv, move to Ireland and start a food business. Showing others who love food how to make Middle Eastern dishes is one of our favourite things to do!

Join us, Dvir (our very own TV chef) and Nicola (Irish Times contributor), in our award-winning deli* where you’ll cook along with us and learn how to prepare some of Mezze’s most popular dishes. You can book one workshop below or all three with a 10% discount.

Middle Eastern Feast | 6th October  

Friday night in Dvir’s parents’ home is the evening that the family gathers and a feast is prepared with mezze of dips, salads and bread, followed by the main course with rice/grains and more salad. We’ll create a feast together with some of our favourite recipes.

Sample menu of dishes prepared on the night: laffa flatbread, hummus, zhug – coriander and chilli sauce, baharat beef stuffed aubergines, roasted cauliflower with browned butter and urfa chilli, freekah salad, kadaif cake with mascarpone cream.

Middle Eastern Entertaining | 10th November  

This demo and dine will take you through some great ideas for feeding a crowd whether it’s a few nibbles and cocktails for friends or a meal for extended family, you will leave armed with new recipes for Middle Eastern inspired finger foods, dips, grazing platters, crowd pleasing mains and dessert. Once we’ve run through these recipes and you’ve had a go a building some platters, you’ll sit down to a shared plates meal. 

Sample menu of dishes prepared on the night: Middle Eastern monkey bread, labneh, butternut squash and harissa dip, roasted almonds with rose harissa and date molasses,  vegetable tagine, pulled lamb, and knafeh. There will be vegetarian and meat options prepared on the night.

Chrismukkah | 8th December  

Christmas and Hannukah both take place in December and while they are blended together in our family, the traditions and food are very different. This demo and dine we will prepare some Hannukah dishes using seasonal ingredients. Recipes will be perfect to whip out over the festive season and the night can be booked with friends or colleagues for an alternative Christmas party.

Sample menu of dishes prepared on the night: challah bread, caramelised almonds with za’atar, whipped feta with charred leek, latkes (fritters), winter salad, chicken/root vegetable tanzia, babka cake.

ticket: €110 per person per workshop 

includes:  demo & workshop, welcome drink (wine/non-alcoholic), nibbles, food prepared to enjoy on the night, tea/coffee, recipe pack, 10% discount on our cookbook and ingredients from our shop on the night.

how it works

You’ll start the evening with a drink, nibbles and a short demo, then you’ll make some of the Middle Eastern dishes that have been demoed. Once that’s ready you’ll get to sit down and share the Middle Eastern delights at around 9pm.

Wine and soft drinks are available for purchase on the night.

We have a minimum of 6 bookings needed for this demo & dine to go ahead. If it doesn’t go ahead you will be refunded in full for your ticket/s.

what to bring

  • clothes for cooking in (apron if you’d like)
  • jars/tubs for taking home leftovers (if you don’t eat them all!)

Please note: We offer refunds on cancellations if given at least 7 days’  notice. After that we cannot offer a refund. At that stage we’ve already ordered food to prepare for your meal and may not be able to resell your ticket. You can of course pass your ticket on to someone else. Just let us know.

Allergens & dietary requirements: please let us know when booking if you or anyone in your party have any food allergies or are vegan/vegetarian. We can cater for vegans and vegetarians for all workshops.
